Switch off and tune in.

“One cannot manage too many affairs. Like pumpkins in the water, one pops up while you try to hold down the other.”

- Proverbio Chino

We’re living in an ‘always on world’. Every day, we’re bombarded with ads from mobile phone companies promising us ‘email on the go’, ‘the internet in your pocket’, and ’24/7 connectivity’.

They sell it to us as freedom. The freedom to work wherever and wherever you want. The freedom to go anywhere without losing touch with your friends and family.

But it’s all too easy to become a slave to your phone and your inbox. Soon, going out without your phone sends you into a cold sweat. Your heart starts racing if you can’t check your email for a couple of hours.

Try switching off for an hour each day. When you free yourself from all of those outside distractions and expectations, you’ll find yourself much more focused. Multitasking is a myth. Do one thing, and give it the full force of your attention.
